Will Roger Federer Ever Be Ranked As The World Number 1 Again?

Despite being past his prime, Roger Federer is still playing an important role in the sports betting tennis world rankings. Currently ranked third behind Novak Djokovic and Raphael Nadal, Roger Federer entered this week, as being only one week short of American Pete Samapras streak for being ranked atop the ATP tennis standings. With Federer’s improved play of late, many fishing games enthusiasts wonder if he will ever return to the top seed in the world? Here are a few reasons why Federer can return to the top of the ATP standings.

Health – Although Roger Federer has seen his play decrease over the last year or so, the Swiss star is known by many for his iron man streak in the world of tennis. While his rivals have missed tournaments due to injury or exhaustion, time and time again, the 30 year old Federer has played in nearly every tournament each season. In fact, in terms of Grand Slams, the only Grand Slam Federer missed, was in 1999, when he missed the US Open.

Points and Passion – One of the biggest appeals to Federer rival Novak Djokovic this season, was that he had a ton of points to grab in order to catch Federer and Nadal. As Djokovic’s win total increased so too did the points.

Meaning to say, since Roger Federer hasn’t won a major tournament since January of 2010, he has a ton of points to acquire in 2012, in order to reestablish himself as the world number one. For most players, it is harder to repeat as a champion, then it is to win the there first championship. However, with Roger Federer, he has already stated, he plans to be in tennis for the next five to seven years. This in turn suggests that he has the drive and passion needed to regain his world number one ranking.
